Kungälv Municipality is a place where we create value in people's daily lives together. Our vision shows the direction forward, and our keywords – courage, respect, and co-creation – guide us in how we work every day. A good workplace culture and support for your personal development are important to us. Your contribution counts!

Description

Kungälv Municipality is growing, and along with this growth, the municipality is recruiting an Employment Law Jurist to the Executive Team, within the Legal & Procurement unit. In addition to the Executive Team, the administration in Kungälv Municipality is divided into three sectors. We have a total of twelve employees in the unit, and in addition to providing legal support to the municipality's operations and companies, the unit is responsible for the municipality's procurement and purchasing organization.

Responsibilities

The position is newly established, and you will provide legal support primarily in employment law matters to the administration and the political organization. The internal legal competence is supplemented with procured lawyers and jurists as needed.

In the role, you will also assist the Security and Support sector in legal proceedings, primarily concerning cases in the general court regarding the transfer of custody of children placed in foster homes. However, the main focus of the position will be providing employment law advice.

In the role, you provide legal support to the municipality's administration and political bodies, review contracts and agreements, act as a representative in legal proceedings, assist in various types of negotiations, write official reports, respond to inquiries with legal connections, and more. Working at a municipality is very interesting and varied.

You will largely work together with the municipality's managers and HR specialists, assisting them in quality-assuring materials and assessments. This also includes advising on how employment law matters can and should be handled. You are not expected to handle HR cases independently, but you will assist and represent the municipality in dispute negotiations, both in and out of court.

You work independently and handle your cases under your own responsibility, while being part of a legal team consisting of four lawyers and the unit manager. The legal team works collegially, and there is room to discuss cases and legal issues with your legal colleagues.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a law degree and at least three years of experience in qualified work as a lawyer in a municipality, municipal company, government agency, law firm, or court. You are meticulous, driven, and can communicate in Swedish in a correct, clear, and pedagogical manner, both orally and in writing. You have integrity and enjoy collaborating with people with other competencies and experiences to achieve common goals. You thrive in a consultant role and in working in a politically governed organization. The work pace can be high at times, and the questions very varied.

To be considered for the position, you must have experience in providing qualified legal support within the employment law area and experience in civil litigation. It is an advantage if you also have experience working with social law and family law.

Great importance will be attached to your personal qualities.

Recruitment Process

During weeks 28–30, the recruiting manager will be on vacation. Thereafter, any questions about the position will be answered from week 31 onwards.

Interviews are planned to be held during weeks 35–36. During the interview, you will meet the recruiting manager and the HR manager.

Work psychological tests will be used as part of the recruitment process.

Start date latest by the end of 2026 or as agreed.
