The City of Helsingborg is seeking a Strategic Developer in Study and Career Guidance who wants to strengthen the profession, develop methods, and create scientifically grounded and equitable study and career guidance for all students. This role is for you if you have worked as a study and career counselor for several years, are confident in your professional role, and now wish to take the next step into a position where you, together with your colleagues in the SSA unit, will drive development, quality, and professionalization at the municipal level.

The Assignment – with a focus on the individual SYV assignment

As a Strategic Developer, you work both strategically and operationally to develop study and career guidance in the schools of the City of Helsingborg. At this stage, the focus is on the individual guidance assignment and on strengthening the schools' ability to meet students' needs for qualified guidance.

You will:

• Build and implement methods and structures for equitable guidance throughout Helsingborg.
• Support principals in organizing and clarifying the division of responsibilities in the SYV assignment, particularly regarding personal guidance.
• Conduct current situation analyses, identify development needs, and translate them into concrete measures and processes.
• Develop and ensure the quality of the individual guidance assignment, based on research, proven experience, and students' needs.
• Design competence-enhancing initiatives for the SYV profession based on analysis and research.
• Lead and coordinate networks, including the City of Helsingborg's SYV groups and the Family Helsingborg SYV network.
• Monitor the external environment and drive method development within guidance, choice competence, and modern career orientation.

You are part of the Department of Upper Secondary Planning, Guidance, and Research and belong to the School-Working Life Collaboration unit (SSA unit).

We are looking for someone who:

• has worked as a study and career counselor in compulsory school and/or upper secondary school for several years, is experienced, and has a strong professional grounding
• is well-anchored in guidance methodology, theory, and scientific perspectives
• wants to contribute to developing the profession and strengthening the quality and status of the SYV assignment
• is analytical, methodologically strong, and driven by development

• work systematically and long-term
• build methods and models that stand the test of time
• see the big picture and can translate research into practice

Formal Requirements

• Trained study and career counselor
• Experience in qualified SYV work
• Good knowledge of the Swedish education system
• Meritorious: experience in process facilitation, development work, or public administration issues
