17. Coastal Ranger Company is an amphibious unit and one of two combat units belonging to the Älvsborg Amphibious Regiment in Gothenburg.

The company consists of company command with staff, a staff platoon with a command vessel, a close protection platoon, a patrol boat platoon, a sensor platoon, a boarding platoon, or a logistics platoon.

The company specializes in inshore submarine hunting, surface target combat, and boarding operations.

Main Responsibilities

The position of 1M is located on HMS Skaftö. A main responsibility is to lead and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on board the vessel.

Other tasks of a varying nature also occur, for example, leading training within the technical area, deck work, and in-depth study of certain subsystems such as weapon stations and ROVs.

Qualifications

• SOU with a focus on ship technology
• Mechanical engineering competence at least at level M7
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
• Passed FM FysS basic level

Meritorious

• Knowledge of PRIO and LIFT as well as RSF
• Service in a similar position

As a professional officer in the company, requirements are placed on your attention to detail, initiative, sense of responsibility, teamwork skills, and good administrative ability. You must be able to perform well in different environments, on board ships/boats, in the field, and at home base, and handle temporary peaks in workload. During selection, great importance will be attached to personal attributes and suitability.

Employment type: Permanent OFF/K, SO/K starting with a 6-month probationary period. Individual salary setting applies.

Work location: Västra Frölunda, Gothenburg. Travel and evening/weekend duty as well as training days occur.
