Your responsibilities

As a resource pedagogue at our adapted primary school, you support the students and complement the teacher in the classroom during school hours. You are a pedagogue who follows the student throughout the day and is active at the leisure center in the afternoons and during holidays. The position also includes care tasks such as support during toilet visits, help with diabetes medication, dressing, and tube feeding.

The educators working in the class have different professions and form a learning team that collaborates closely. Time for reflection, conversation, and planning in this learning team is continuously scheduled weekly.

The school has a well-established and functioning operational organization. The school leadership works with trust, and you have great opportunities to influence your work and daily life at the school, as well as develop as a person and pedagogue. The student health team is on-site every day and, like the school leadership, has a very student-centered approach.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have an academic education in pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field of at least 30 higher education credits. You have a strong commitment to the development of children and young people, as well as a genuine interest in creating safety, well-being, and good conditions for learning in school. You are motivated by supporting students in need of special support and have a good understanding of people's different prerequisites for acquiring knowledge. Experience of working in adapted primary school and with children and young people in need of special support is a plus, as is knowledge of alternative communication methods such as visual support and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).

As a person, you are secure, stable, and professional in your approach. You work independently, take responsibility for your tasks, and have the ability to plan, structure, and drive your work forward. At the same time, you collaborate well with students, colleagues, and guardians through a listening and respectful approach. You are flexible and adapt easily to changed prerequisites and situations in the school's daily life. Furthermore, you have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, and are accustomed to using digital tools and technical aids in daily work.

We are a school that works for everyone as our unit includes both primary school and adapted primary school. Students from our different school forms meet continuously both indoors and outdoors daily. Ormkärrskolan currently has approximately 380 students from preschool class to grade 6, of whom 60 follow the curriculum for adapted primary school.

Before you can be employed, you need to show a clean extract from the police's criminal record.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a certificate of personal status together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.
