The position is located within the Social Services Administration, which is one of eight administrations in Linköping Municipality. The Social Services Administration is responsible for regulatory authority, ordering of measures, and own management within the areas of individual and family care, LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), and social psychiatry. We ensure that all residents receive the support they are entitled to.

Your Responsibilities

As a support assistant, you provide support to individuals with intellectual and/or neuropsychiatric functional variations. You provide pedagogical support and work consciously to ensure that the individual uses and develops their abilities as independently as possible.

The work includes cleaning, laundry, shopping, and handling medications. You act as a contact person and are responsible for structuring and planning the individual's daily life together with them, as well as jointly designing the measures provided. Furthermore, you serve as the link to society, where you may need to assist with communication with authorities and healthcare providers.

Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, every other weekend, and on-call sleeping shifts. Solo work is part of the role.

Your Workplace

Ekholmsvägen 501 is an LSS facility located in Ekholmen. The facility is in a development phase, and you will become an important part of creating good working methods and routines moving forward. The work is active and involves participating in activities together with the users. Daily life includes both calmer and more challenging situations, where thoughtful interaction is crucial.

Who You Are

We are looking for you who have education in care and nursing, child and youth activities, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have experience working with individuals with challenging behavior and are accustomed to documenting in journal systems. Since the work involves support in daily situations, experience in nursing care is meritorious.

It is an advantage if you have experience working with individuals who have intellectual and/or neuropsychiatric functional variations. If you also have knowledge of AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), low-affective interaction, or pedagogical working methods, we view this as meritorious. In this role, you need to have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing and feel comfortable working in digital systems. A B-class driver's license is also a requirement for the position.

You have good collaboration skills and work well with other people; you are receptive and communicative. You ensure that messages are clear and reach their target, and that expectations are clear for all involved parties. You have an empathetic ability to put yourself in others' perspectives and situations without taking over the person's feelings.
