We are looking for a School Counselor

As a school counselor at Realgymnasiet, you work as part of the student health services in accordance with the Education Act. You work in close collaboration with teachers and the student health team to contribute to the best possible conditions for learning for our students. You meet with students, guardians, and staff, offering professional competence in the form of conversations, support contacts, counseling, and supervision within the psychosocial area.

You drive the student health work together with your colleagues, from a broad perspective based on the current educational offerings at the school. The work is also carried out together with other pedagogical staff at the school to contribute to the students' goal achievement.

Realgymnasiet Helsingborg is a smaller school. Therefore, every employee is an important piece of the puzzle in our joint work. We work to ensure that our students feel safe and reach as far as possible with us during their three years of upper secondary school. We operate on the principle that "all students are everyone's students," meaning we need to help each other and look out for all students to succeed in our mission. Qualifications

To be considered for the role, we look for:

• A relevant higher education degree in fields such as social psychology, social work, behavioral science, or social pedagogy.
• Previous experience in the role of a school counselor within upper secondary education is an advantage.

We are looking for someone who:

• Enjoys being with students and getting to know them so they feel comfortable reaching out when needed.
• Has an easy time building relationships and collaborating, both with students and colleagues.
• Will be part of a student health team where you are expected to take initiative on how we can develop both preventive student health work and the ongoing work with student cases that need handling.
• Can supervise staff and assist with delineating boundaries between different professions when necessary.
• Is self-sufficient and has a good ability to grasp the current situation and keep ongoing processes moving forward that you are responsible for.
