The operational area of the Committee for Children and Education includes preschools, primary schools, as well as Fenix Culture and Knowledge Centre, which encompasses upper secondary school, special upper secondary school, and adult education. We work with a clear goal to provide every child and student with knowledge and hope for the future that will accompany them throughout life.

You will meet dedicated teachers both in school and during leisure time activities who work within the unit. Our Student Health Team (SHT) meets regularly and collaborates for the benefit of the students.

We are a unit consisting of two smaller schools located in a lovely rural environment, and one larger school in southern Vaggeryd.

We are looking for you who are trained as a social worker and wish to work as a school counselor in Principal Area 1 in Vaggeryd Municipality.

Principal Area 1 in Vaggeryd Municipality includes three schools, all of which are grades F-3. This includes Götafors School, a larger school with eight classes located in southern Vaggeryd, as well as two smaller schools in the countryside. One of them is located in Byarum and uses the B-form as a teaching method. The other, located in Bondstorp, works with all students integrated into the same class. Together, we have approximately 260 students in the area.

Responsibilities
As a school counselor, you primarily work with health promotion and prevention, at both group and individual levels. You are an integral part of the Principal Area's Student Health Team, which also consists of a school nurse, school psychologist, special education teacher, and special needs teacher. The work is led and distributed by the principal. Student health services are an important and integrated part of learning in school. Together, we work to ensure our students have the best conditions to reach their full potential.

As a school counselor, you contribute to creating social environments that promote learning, development, and health. You work independently and have the opportunity to influence your work within a given assignment. You collaborate closely with other school counselors through networks, who work at the various units in the municipality.

Qualifications
We are looking for you who are trained as a social worker. Experience working as a counselor with children and young people in schools is considered an advantage.

You are a structured and engaged person who has the ability to build trust with both students and guardians. The position involves close collaboration with the schools' pedagogical staff regarding students' social development. As a school counselor, you are expected to work independently, plan and prioritize your work, and have good communication skills.

A valid driver's license is required for the position.
