We are always looking for new skills – colleagues with different backgrounds and experiences, united by the common drive to create a better municipality to visit, live, work, and reside in.
Do you have knowledge and experience in qualified social work within the Social Services Administration? Do you thrive in a job filled with quick decisions and complex cases? Then you have a position as a Social Secretary at the Social Emergency Service to apply for.
Your new job
Through the operations of the Social Emergency Service, which takes place outside of office hours, the municipality ensures its responsibility that individuals present in the municipality have access to support and help in acute situations. The primary task of the Social Emergency Service therefore includes risk, protection, and needs assessments, as well as assistance decisions in acute situations where official authority cannot wait until the next working day.
As a Social Secretary at the Social Emergency Service, you handle cases for residents who may be in need of immediate interventions. Here you encounter a broad range of different cases and tasks where no day is like the other. You never know what to expect when you start your shift, and you are always finished when you clock off. You handle acute social problems for people within social services' various target groups and ages. Examples of tasks include protection assessments regarding children at risk and persons subjected to domestic violence, decisions on emergency housing, assessments under the LNU (LVU) and LPT (LVM) acts, as well as counseling and referrals.
The Social Emergency Service is available to all persons present in the municipality who are in need of urgent help. Key partners include the social services in Jönköping, Habo, and Mullsjö, as well as the police, healthcare, residential care homes, etc.
The Social Emergency Service belongs to IFO, Adult Area.
The work requires that you can make independent decisions in accordance with laws, routines, and delegation. At the same time, you need to have humility towards the task and collaborate with colleagues in assessments. You work efficiently under stress, can make necessary prioritizations, and maintain calm in difficult situations. You contribute with your competence and experience and can act as a good support to your colleagues as you often work together in teams. You have a professional attitude, are solution-focused, and have a good ability to collaborate both externally and internally. We would appreciate it if you have experience of meeting vulnerable people and if you have a clear child's perspective.
Your qualifications
You who apply for the position have a completed and approved degree in Social Work, and it is desirable that you have at least five years of experience in official authority within social services' individual and family care. You have good knowledge regarding the LNU (LVU), LPT (LVM), and Social Services Act (SoL). Previous experience working within child and youth authorities is desirable.
