Description

As an employee in Gislaved Municipality, you are a co-creator at your workplace. You are given the opportunity and expected to contribute to the development of operations through your knowledge and experience. Respect for differences and the equal value of all people are fundamental to us.

The new reception unit is part of the social services administration's development work, with the goal of creating a clear, accessible, and legally secure path into social services. Here, expertise is gathered to make initial assessments and ensure that residents quickly receive the right support.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with other units within Children and Family as well as other operations within the social services administration.

We work according to BBIC (Children's Needs at the Center) and IBIC (Individual's Needs at the Center) and strive for social work based on knowledge, participation, a holistic view, and high quality.

We can offer challenging and developmental tasks within the framework of a supportive culture where you, together with colleagues, help shape and develop a new operation.

Job Responsibilities

To simplify things for residents, collaboration partners, and other actors, the Authority for Children and Family Unit, together with the Authority for Adults and Disability Support Unit, is starting a joint reception. The goal is to make it easy for the individual to reach social services and to be able to meet questions with broad competence right from the first contact. In your role as a social secretary, you will handle cases concerning domestic violence, harmful use and addiction, emergency housing, LSS (Support and Service Act for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), social psychiatry, as well as children and family.

We are now looking for a social secretary who wants to help build and develop this new operation.

As a social secretary, you play a central role in social services' first contact with residents, both children and adults. You receive and process applications, reports, and inquiries, and make initial assessments of the need for support or protection. The work includes:

  • Receiving and assessing incoming applications and reports of concern
  • Conducting preliminary assessments according to current legislation
  • Making protection assessments and emergency assessments when necessary
  • Providing information, counseling, and guidance to residents and collaboration partners
  • Collaborating with other units within social services as well as external actors
  • Contributing to the development of methods, routines, and structures in the new reception

The work is based on the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Abusers of Intoxicants Act (LVM), and the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), as well as social services' mandate to work in a legally secure, accessible manner, with the best interests of the child in focus.

As a social secretary, you are often the "hub" and have an important function in creating a clear, safe, and accessible entry point to social services.

Qualifications

  • Are a social worker or have another education that the employer considers equivalent
  • Have experience in social work within authority operations
  • Have good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Have a B driving license

It is meritorious if you have experience working with reception or preliminary assessments, work in the children and young people's area, adults and disability support, and work according to BBIC/IBIC.

As a person, you are secure, structured, and have the ability to make professional assessments even in complex situations. You have a good attitude towards people, are communicative, and easily create trust in meetings with people.

What do we offer?

  • A developmental role in building a new reception
  • A strong sense of team with engaged colleagues
  • Good working hours
  • Opportunity for remote work when the operation allows
  • Competitive salaries
  • External supervision
  • Competence development through Yrkesresan
  • Paid vacation from the first year of employment
  • Free swimming at the municipality's pool facilities and discount on gym membership
  • Free parking at the workplace
  • Active staff club

Your employment is deeply linked to your ability to collaborate and participate in the development of yourself and the operation. With us, this means you have good cooperation with your manager and colleagues, both at your own workplace and in the rest of the municipal group. You treat everyone with a high level of service, kindness, and high quality through a customer and service focus. You take responsibility for involving yourself in operational issues and are solution-oriented.

We place great importance on personal suitability and that your view of employment matches ours.

We apply register checks (extract from the criminal record) as a form of suitability testing for all who are offered employment in operations where one has direct and regular contact with children and young people.

Do you want to be part of our success? Send us your application!

In Gislaved Municipality, full-time employment is a right, and therefore vacant positions are advertised as full-time. When the operation can accommodate part-time, it is of course an option. Positions shorter than 3 months and certain positions may be exempted. In connection with the recruitment process, Gislaved Municipality has taken a stance on recruitment channels and marketing. We therefore expressly decline contact with media sellers, recruitment sites, and similar.
