The Child and Youth Administration

The Child and Youth Administration is responsible for preschools, after-school centers (fritidshem), primary schools, and adapted primary schools (grades F-9). In total, we are approximately 1,100 people working to provide a good environment for our children and students today and preparing them for the future. As staff in our administration, you create the conditions for children's and students' desire to learn and their opportunity to succeed, together with us.

Job Description

You will join a context where collaboration is a given. We work in teams for grades F-3 and 4-6, but much of the planning and development work is done jointly. The school has mixed-age classes and has an after-school center in a separate building, where staff are also a natural part of the school's daily life as resources, subject teachers, or in other important roles.

We have a common structure in teaching with clear starts to the day and visual supports, to create security and recognition for the students. The lessons are structured in a way that students know what is expected and can focus on their learning. During breaks, we put extra effort into our "Movement on Break" project, which aims to create meaningful and active breaks for everyone.

You will serve as a resource in preschool class and at the after-school center. If a teacher is sick, you will have lessons. It may also happen that you help out in the preschool if there is a shortage of staff. Your schedule is flexible, but you know two weeks in advance how you should work. You may open and close the after-school center as needed, so working hours are between 6 AM and 6 PM. The position is 60-80 percent. We need you during the autumn term, but there may be an opportunity for extension, full or partial.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience working with children and teaching
  • Driver's license and access to a car

We are looking for someone with good collaboration skills who enjoys working together with colleagues to create a secure and developmental environment. You have pedagogical insight and the ability to adapt your working method based on the needs of the children or students. As a person, you are stable, confident in your professional role, and able to keep your calm even in challenging situations. You are also flexible and adapt easily to changed conditions in everyday life.

Personal suitability is given great weight.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
