Description

Nordhemsskolan is a historic municipal school (grades F-9) located in the heart of Linnéstaden, at a convenient distance from the city center and Slottsskogen park. You can easily reach us as tram and bus lines converge at Järntorget, just north of the school.

Over 750 students attend the school, including approximately 75 in the lower and middle school sections. Nordhemsskolan places a strong emphasis on learning, focusing on good teaching in a secure environment. The school consists of a regular comprehensive school and an adapted comprehensive school, led by a team comprising the principal, three assistant principals, and approximately 100 staff members.

Nordhemsskolan works with PALS – a school-wide approach based on relationship-building, clarity, and structure, implemented on both a promoting/preventive and a direct intervention level. Nordhemsskolan is a music-profiled school, meaning all students have extra music lessons in addition to the national curriculum.

We are now looking for a Visual Arts teacher who can teach our students in grades 7–9 and in the adapted comprehensive school.

At Nordhemsskolan, you will, together with students and colleagues, plan, implement, evaluate, and develop teaching so that students acquire knowledge and values that provide a good foundation for further studies and a good adult life. You are expected to be a secure leader with strong subject knowledge and the competence to build good relationships.

  • experience working within an adapted comprehensive school.

You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You proceed from the equal value of all people and create a good atmosphere in interactions. You adapt easily to changed conditions and new information. You can quickly change your perspective and attitude and see opportunities in changes.

You gain energy from contributing to others' learning and you create the conditions for learning to take place. You have the ability to explain problems and information to different recipients and from different perspectives. You encourage dialogue, participation, and engagement.
