The Unit for Growth and Business leads and coordinates Kalmar Municipality's business development based on three clear operational goals: strengthening the conditions for businesses to grow, providing good stewardship for entrepreneurs who come into contact with Kalmar Municipality, and attracting talent and investments to Kalmar. The team currently consists of 6 employees, and the workplace is located in central Kalmar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Business Developer with special responsibility for business meetings, you play a key role in organizing meetings and conferences for Kalmar's business community. This includes events such as the Growth Day, business breakfasts, and industry meetings.

You will also engage in dialogue with companies that wish to grow or are facing specific challenges. On our unit, we place great value on close contact with entrepreneurs and maintaining a high level of service.

Your responsibilities include:

• Organize well-executed large and small business meetings with a strong emphasis on dialogue and interactivity.
• Contribute to shaping topics and content based on the needs of businesses and external changes affecting the business community.
• Engage in direct dialogue with individual companies to support their growth and address any potential obstacles.
• Match entrepreneurs with the support and counseling offered by local and regional business promotion organizations.

You will work closely with the team in Growth & Business and with external stakeholders. Since Kalmar Municipality's business development is in continuous evolution, it is natural that the responsibilities may change and develop over time.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a university degree in fields such as business administration, social sciences, or similar. You possess the experience and ability required to build trust-based relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You have an interest in business development and understand the drivers behind business growth, innovation, and sustainable development.

To succeed in this role, you need to be service-oriented, organized, and structured, with the ability to drive projects from start to finish in close collaboration with the rest of the team. You can handle multiple tasks simultaneously and have a strong ability to prioritize and plan your work.
