About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and client transport.

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service in Kalmar is expanding and currently has several ongoing projects and new establishments ahead. The establishment of a Class 3 prison in 2026, a new remand prison with the aim of being operational in 2027, as well as a new prison facility expected to be ready by 2030. This expansion creates significant opportunities, and several new employees in various professional categories will need to be recruited over the coming years.

We have a strong heritage, with the prison service in Kalmar since 1852, and now we take our experience, build for the future of the prison service, and we need employees who want to grow with us!

Job Responsibilities

The Kalmar operational area consists of several different managerial, work, and responsibility areas. As an executive assistant, you will assist the area managers with the coordination of cross-operational processes through investigation, case handling, and follow-up. Together with the managers, you will ensure that local work is carried out in a uniform and quality-assured manner according to the authority's guidelines and other governing documents.

The work includes, among other things, working on behalf of the prison inspector with competence supply, attraction initiatives, and communication. You will be involved in the work regarding our upcoming establishments and work strategically with competence supply in the operational area and communication initiatives related to these. The work will involve networking and collaborating with the business community, the municipality, and other external parties. As an executive assistant with us, you will work broadly and deeply in the management's steering and follow-up processes; the work may therefore cover several areas such as HR, organization, operational content, and communication.

The executive assistant role is part of a newly established small team for leadership and administrative support to the entire leadership group within the Kalmar operational area. The work takes place both individually and together with colleagues, managers, and other support functions. Together, we will report, develop, and quality-assure the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's operations in Kalmar. The Service's core values are the fundamental strength in all our work.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• An academic degree in a subject area relevant to the position, or alternatively other education combined with experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service considers relevant.
• Experience of working in communication.
• Knowledge and experience of driving, leading, and maintaining processes with multiple actors.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience of working within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
• Experience of working in competence supply.
• Experience of following up on operations or projects.
• Academic education in personnel/HR or another direction relevant to the position.
• Experience of operational development.
