VA SYD is strengthening its strategic and investigative mandate! The Urban Planning Department is expanding with an Investigation Unit, and we are therefore looking for a Unit Manager. Your upcoming role

As the Unit Manager for the Investigation Unit, you play a crucial role in ensuring the department's deliveries and development. This includes making strategic choices for VA SYD's water and wastewater operations, maintaining cohesive water and wastewater planning, and ensuring seamless and effective collaboration with VA SYD's member municipalities throughout the entire urban planning process.

The Investigation Unit consists of approximately ten employees and is tasked with conducting tactical water and wastewater investigations, preparing planning materials, system analyses, and hydraulic modeling. These efforts result in packaged and prioritized proposals for measures, investigations, and/or projects. The unit is a vital cog in ensuring the organization's investigations, planning of measures, and water and wastewater investments by holding knowledge about the needs and development of the water and wastewater system.

As the manager of the Investigation Unit, an initial important task is to develop new working methods regarding investigations and water and wastewater planning together with the employees and other relevant parties in the organization. In this role, you are also responsible for ensuring VA SYD's steering and prioritization of investigations by leading and driving the work with an investigation portfolio in close collaboration with the operations.

In this role, you are responsible for, among other things:

• leading and continuously developing the unit
• having full operational responsibility, including economy, personnel, and working environment
• serving on the Urban Planning Department's management group as one of three unit managers, thereby actively contributing to the department's development and steering with a clear holistic perspective
• spreading knowledge and experience both internally and externally regarding water and wastewater issues within the urban planning industry
• driving development and highlighting needs within research, development, and innovation

Who are you?

We are looking for you who want to lead in accordance with VA SYD's environmental identity in an organization that is constantly developing. As the Unit Manager for the Investigation Unit, we see that you have a structured working method and good planning skills. You are accustomed to leading specialists, have a coaching approach, and work with clear direction and goals for the operations. We also see that you have a good ability to make complex issues understandable and have very good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. You move seamlessly in different contexts and build trust among colleagues and stakeholders through your experience of collaborating broadly both internally and externally. You successfully lead operations through change and development.

Your experience

We are looking for you who have:

• several years of experience as a personnel manager
• experience from water and wastewater operations or similar
• experience and knowledge of organizational development and change management
• experience of leading in knowledge-based organizations
• a university degree, such as a Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent
