The Unit's Mission

The Swedish Public Employment Service (Arbetsförmedlingen), Business Area Coordinated Support, is seeking a Unit Manager for the Eastern Skåne unit. As Unit Manager for Eastern Skåne, you will lead a unit with approximately 200 employees. The unit consists of 9 sections. As Unit Manager, you will lead 9 section managers as well as a management support team of 5 people. The Eastern Skåne unit operates in 5 municipalities and has two regional assignments: the strengthened cooperation with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency and one of the Swedish Public Employment Service's special sections with specialist competence in the field of vision, deafness, and hearing. You will be responsible for the unit's physical office located in Kristianstad, where other employees from the agency are also based. Job Description

Your assignment as Unit Manager includes overall responsibility for operations, budget, work environment, and personnel. You are responsible for ensuring that the unit's results meet established goals.

As Unit Manager, you are part of the Division Manager's leadership group and, together with them and the other unit managers, will be responsible for the entire region's results and development. You have an important task in creating a well-functioning leadership group and, together with the section managers, drive and develop the unit. You enable good performance, high satisfaction, and a good work environment by working in accordance with the Swedish Public Employment Service's leadership criteria. You promote a culture characterized by trust, openness, and security. Your work takes place in strong partnership within and outside your own region and in good collaboration with trade union partners. As Unit Manager, you are a role model in living up to the Swedish Public Employment Service's vision and the public sector values.

The position is a permanent full-time employment that may start with a six-month probationary period. The location is Kristianstad.

Basic Requirements for the Position

At least one year of current experience in:

  • Management with operational and personnel responsibility within the Swedish Public Employment Service

Or

  • Management at a corresponding level with operational and personnel responsibility from another organization

Other Merits for the Position

  • Good knowledge of labor market issues and the labor market policy mission
  • Current experience of working in the public sector and good experience of exercising official authority
  • Current experience of cooperation and collaboration with suppliers
  • At least one year of current experience leading other managers
  • Experience of being a manager within state operations
  • Well-versed in the work with both job seekers and employers within the Swedish Public Employment Service
