About Jobbtorg Stockholm

Jobbtorg Stockholm is a department within the Labor Market Administration of Stockholm City that works with labor market initiatives. We provide support to young people and adults who are outside the labor market – through conversations, coaching, collaboration, and educational pathways. Around 500 employees work across 24 units throughout the city.

If you want to make a difference for our young adults and support them into work and studies, this is the right position to apply for!

We at Jobbtorg Young South West need to strengthen our team with two job coaches, where one of the job coach positions is a one-year fixed-term contract. For the fixed-term contract, we would prefer that you are available to start in September/October.

Our catchment area is Hägersten-Älvsjö. Jobbtorg operates from Skärholmen, and at the turn of the year, we are moving to new, fresh premises adjacent to the subway station. The unit consists of 12 employees, and the work group includes coaches, study and career counselors, and the unit manager. We have close collaboration within the group, share knowledge, and support each other in daily life.

Your role

As a job coach, you will work according to the Supported Employment (SE) method to support, motivate, and guide the target group, referred to as aspirants, to find, obtain, and keep a job or studies with the aim of becoming self-sufficient. SE is adapted for Jobbtorg Stockholm's operations. You map out and plan together with the aspirant. You support and guide the aspirant in the planning.

The work involves employer contacts and matching the aspirant to the right workplace. You are to seek out and find employers and support the aspirant and employer as needed. You work both independently and in teams. You collaborate with colleagues within the organization but also with external actors and employers. You document continuously in the existing operational system according to guidelines.

The target group is young adults aged 16–29 with different backgrounds, experiences, and conditions, but with the commonality that they are outside the labor market.

Change and development work is a natural part of the workday and requires active participation.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for you who have:

• An academic education with a focus on behavioral science, social studies, sociology, or equivalent experience
• Experience working with people who are far from the labor market
• Experience working with employer contacts
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both orally and in writing
• Good knowledge of the Office package, Outlook, and working and documenting in digital operational systems.

It is meritorious if you have:

• Training in Supported Employment (SE)
• Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI)
• Experience working in a politically governed operation
• Linguistic skills beyond English.
