We are now looking for an engaged and confident childcare worker for a temporary position at Balders Hage from August to December 2026. There may be an opportunity for extension.

About Us

Balders Hage is located in the Marielund area and is Östersund Municipality's oldest preschool. The preschool has three departments with mixed-age groups of children and a large, lush yard with forest areas that inspire play, movement, and exploration.

We are characterized by a positive view of children, where we start from the competent child and meet every individual with curiosity, engagement, and respect. We create safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environments where children get to explore the world through play, language, and interaction. Language development is a central part of our operations, and we work consciously to give children rich opportunities to communicate, express thoughts, and develop their understanding of the world around them. We believe in joyful learning where every child gets to develop at their own pace.

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, implementation, and follow-up of pedagogical activities based on the curriculum.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and educational environment where children's development and learning are stimulated through play, care, and teaching.
• Be a present educator who builds good relationships with children, guardians, and colleagues.
• Participate in the preschool's daily routines and contribute to the development of the activity together with the work team.

Requirements

• Trained childcare worker.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both oral and written.
• Understanding of the preschool's governing documents and the ability to translate them into daily work.

Merits

• Experience of working in preschool.
• Good computer skills.
• Experience with digital systems such as Unikum, Tempus, or Teams.
