We are now looking for an engaged and experienced support person for our student residence in central Östersund!

We are particularly looking for you who have experience in similar work and who are confident in yourself. You are accustomed to working with low-affective handling and have the ability to meet the citizen with calm and understanding, even in challenging situations.

A student residence within the LSS (Act for Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) is a form of housing for people with disabilities who need support in daily life to be able to live as independent and meaningful a life as possible. Here, one person lives, which gives you as an employee the opportunity to work closely with the citizen and create a safe, stable, and individually adapted daily life.

Today, we are a team consisting of 8 support persons and support assistants who are available around the clock. You always work together with a colleague to ensure safety, continuity, and quality. To succeed in the assignment, you have close support and collaboration with the region's habilitation psychologist, speech therapist, and doctor. In our own organization, there are also operational support, support pedagogues, and psychologists. The student residence has a staff room with offices and sleeping places for on-call sleeping shifts.

Working hours vary but are mainly scheduled between 14:00–09:00 with sleeping on-call shifts, and some work shifts are scheduled during the day between 08:30–16:00. On weekends and holidays, you also work 24-hour shifts with sleeping on-call. The working hours suit you if you enjoy working longer shifts and thereby getting more continuous time off. The hours may vary depending on the needs of the operations.

This position is 85%, but you have the right to work up to full-time within other parts of the Disability Sector, depending on the needs of the operations and in dialogue with you as an employee. Start date according to agreement.

Your new job

You contribute to structure and safety by supporting daily routines, personal care, and various activities, such as excursions and cycling.

You have experience working in an LSS student residence, which is a requirement for the position, and feel confident working in a pedagogical and supportive role. You work with a low-affective approach and use methods and tools, such as picture support and signs, to develop and maintain the citizen's abilities. Documentation is an important part of the work; we would like you to have good computer skills. Staff drive to and from activities, which means a Category B driver's license is required.
