In 2028, the EU will enter a new period of long-term budgeting with new conditions for regional development funds. You will play a key role in ensuring that Region Gotland is prepared for the upcoming programming period while also concluding the current one. As a Project Developer, you act as a link between available funding and applicants on Gotland. You participate in and work strategically through various networks at the regional, national, and international levels.

The Department for Regional Development is responsible for strategic planning, management, steering, and follow-up with a focus on social, environmental, and economically sustainable development. The position is located within one of the department's five units. The Coordination and Financing Unit consists of eleven people and is responsible, among other things, for developing and monitoring the regional development strategy and processing project applications. The Project Developer role is part of the financing team, which consists of three people, and also works closely with the EU Strategist.

On behalf of the political leadership and in collaboration with others, we drive development according to "Our Gotland 2040," our regional development strategy. Your responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants to help shape the future of Gotland by turning ideas into concrete projects. You thrive in an independent role with many contacts and great opportunities to make a difference.

As a Project Developer, you have a strategic and advisory role where you act as a support both externally and internally throughout the entire project development chain, from idea to completed application. You inspire and mobilize organizations to seize opportunities in areas related to the regional development strategy, thereby contributing to the county's development. You provide knowledge on how projects are structured, planned, and financed for the best possible results.

The work also includes communication regarding calls for proposals, as well as participation in networks at the regional, national, and European levels. Until the end of the current programming period in 2027, you will be the contact person for the Regional Fund and the Social Fund in the program area Småland and the Islands. At the same time, you will monitor and contribute to ensuring the region's opportunities for funding in the upcoming programming period.

You will actively contribute to further developing and concretizing the work with follow-up and evaluation for continuous learning together with other colleagues. The position also includes support to the political level, responding to official inquiries (remiss), and other administrative tasks.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with an academic education and very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. A project management certification is an advantage.

You have experience from:

• project development work and a very good understanding of project logic.
• working in collaboration with multiple actors at different levels.
• public administration and a good understanding of politically governed organizations.

It is an advantage if you have:

• knowledge of EU programs and project financing.
• experience in business development and regional development.

As a person, you are receptive and find it easy to collaborate and build contacts. You drive your work independently and have a structured approach. You can quickly absorb large amounts of information and have the ability to communicate it in a pedagogical manner. Furthermore, you are comfortable handling varying workloads throughout the year.
