Project Description

PhD Subject: Chemical Engineering

Matter transport in battery electrolytes affects central battery properties, such as charging speed and aging. Models describing the transport properties of electrolytes are therefore important tools in the development and understanding of batteries. The purpose of this project is to further develop methods and models so that they can more easily and accurately handle complex battery electrolytes with many components. In the project, a combination of experimental methods and calculations of electrolyte properties at the molecular level will be used to describe the macroscopic electrolyte properties used in battery models. The project is carried out in close collaboration with industry partners.

Supervision: Göran Lindbergh is proposed as the main supervisor, while Henrik Ekström and Rakel Wreland Lindström are proposed as co-supervisors. Supervision decisions are made upon admission.
