We offer you:
- A secure and inclusive work environment with engaged students and colleagues.
- A meaningful assignment where you make a difference.
Your role
As a teacher at Polhem's Adapted Upper Secondary School, you are responsible for planning, teaching, evaluating, and assessing instruction based on each student's individual prerequisites, needs, and goals. The instruction is characterized by structure, clarity, security, and a low-affective approach.
You design the instruction in accordance with curricula, subject area plans, and current knowledge requirements.
The role includes teaching, mentorship, participation in program and subject group work, as well as other pedagogical processes regarding our students.
You collaborate with colleagues and are an important part of collegial learning to create new and in-depth knowledge. You cooperate with student health services, guardians, and external actors.
Together, we create an accessible, meaningful, and developmental learning environment where every student is given the opportunity to succeed.
Your competence and experience
We are looking for someone who:
- Wants to work with students on the individual program.
- Has high expectations for the student's learning.
- Has good pedagogical insight and is clear, engaged, and works purposefully to ensure that each student reaches as far as possible in their knowledge development.
- Adapts the learning environment and teaching materials based on the students' needs.
- Works with clarifying pedagogy and alternative and augmentative communication (AAC).
- Has experience working in adapted school forms, preferably at an adapted upper secondary school.
You are a certified teacher with qualifications in the subject areas Language and Communication and Individual and Society, and you have a special needs teacher degree with a focus on intellectual disability.
You work to make the student involved in their own learning and develop the student's ability to learn, both independently and together with others.
As a person, you are secure, stable, have self-awareness, and are a clear leader in the classroom. You structure and organize your work in an effective way. Your communication is clear, and you adapt your way of conveying knowledge based on the students' different prerequisites.
You lead and organize your work so that a secure, accessible learning environment based on respect and collaboration is created. You see collegial learning as a matter of course. You value and create good conditions for collaboration and build good relationships with students, colleagues, and external contacts.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at considering each person's competence and thereby combating discrimination.
