Your Role – and Why It Matters

As an Automation Engineer, you play a leading role in our projects from the initial idea to a real, functioning facility. In practice, this means you will work with:

• Programming and configuration of control systems to create efficient and smart solutions
• Retrofits and modernizations of existing facilities where you combine analysis, problem-solving, and technology
• New turnkey projects, where you take responsibility from start to final delivery

In the long term, we would like to see you develop into a more leading and coaching role, where you act as a mentor for our junior engineers and contribute to the team's competence development. Here, the role is shaped according to both our customers' needs and your own strengths and drivers.

Qualifications

We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer who wants to drive advanced automation solutions at AFRY. The role suits you if you consider yourself mid-level/senior and have a few years of experience within automation, along with relevant education or equivalent work experience.

You are self-motivated, proactive, and thrive in project-based teams where you take responsibility for complex projects. We value your problem-solving skills, your business-minded approach, and your ability to build good relationships. Here, you will work closely with customers and colleagues on exciting assignments across various industries.

Requirements

• A few years of experience within automation
• Relevant education or equivalent work experience
• Experience from industries such as automotive, process industry, water & waste, or energy & heating
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing
• Valid driver's license (Category B)
• Knowledge and experience with systems such as: SIMATIC PCS7, ABB 800xA

Merits

• Experience from Pharma/Life Science or manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of systems such as: AVEVA System Platform, Siemens TIA, and other DCS/PLC/SCADA systems
• Experience with older ABB products such as AC450 and MP200, as well as system upgrades
