Role Overview:

St1 Biokraft is seeking a Senior Trader to join the Value Chain team. The primary objective of this role is to expand and strengthen the company’s biomethane portfolio through origination, market development, and commercial structuring, with a particular focus on building an asset-light portfolio. The successful candidate will be expected to identify and capture new business opportunities, develop strategic counterparty relationships, and help position St1 Biokraft as a leading commercial player in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grow and manage a commercial biomethane portfolio, with a focus on third-party sourcing, offtake, and market expansion.

• Originate and structure new commercial opportunities across supply, demand, and partnership channels.

• Build and maintain strategic relationships with producers, counterparties, aggregators, and customers across relevant European markets.

• Identify and develop new market entry opportunities and portfolio growth strategies in line with company objectives.

• Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics to inform commercial decision-making.

• Work cross-functionally with legal, compliance, sustainability, and operational teams to enable scalable portfolio growth.

Candidate Profile:

• 7–10 years of experience in commercial portfolio development, trading, origination, or business development within energy or commodities.

• Strong track record of building and growing portfolios, preferably in businesses with limited or no owned assets.

• Strategic and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to identify and execute growth opportunities in evolving markets.

• Strong commercial judgment and understanding of market fundamentals, contracts, and risk considerations.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills in English. Proficiency in additional European languages would be an advantage.
