About Lillhagen and our operations

In the Lillhagen principal area, we work based on prioritized goals in Knowledge, Core Values, and Student Health Services. We are supported by several lead teachers who work across the area with all staff at recurring conferences and study days. High expectations for both students and staff permeate our operations. We work with collegial learning and systematic analyses and evaluations of our teaching to ensure that both students and staff have the best opportunities for development. Lillhagsskolan has a well-functioning student health team including a school counselor, school nurse, special needs pedagogue, special needs teacher, and assistant principal. The lower secondary school consists of four parallel classes with approximately 360 students and over 50 employees, located in "The White House".

We work according to the "Gävle Model," a municipality-wide safety initiative where all staff are involved in value-based work. As a new employee, you will have access to a mentor. Building good relationships with students is a cornerstone of our work.

We are now looking for an engaged teacher in Mathematics and Natural Sciences for grades 7-9 who wants to help develop a safe, varied, and inspiring school day where every student is given the opportunity to succeed.

Responsibilities

As a teacher for grades 7-9 in Mathematics and Natural Sciences, you will work with teaching, have class responsibility, and be responsible for mapping, planning, implementation, and evaluation of lessons. The work is performed according to decided goals and guidelines. You work together with colleagues to create an inspiring, varied, and enjoyable school day where student learning and well-being are in focus.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching in grades 7-9 according to the current curriculum.
• Class responsibility.
• Mapping, planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching.
• You challenge and support students so they achieve good academic results and adapt your teaching based on all students' needs and prerequisites.
• You collaborate with other teachers, guardians, and the school's combined student health services.

Requirements and qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A teaching degree and teaching license with eligibility to teach in grades 7-9 and the subjects MA (Mathematics) and NO (Natural Sciences).
• Good knowledge of the primary school curriculum.
• Experience working with digital tools, for example, documentation in Unikum or Office 365.
• Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

To succeed in the role, you have:

• The ability to lead, motivate, and inspire students, helping them develop and feel well. You are good at creating open dialogue and adapting your actions based on the current situation.
• You are relationship-building, take initiative in social contexts, and have the ability to create trust in your professional relationships.
• You have a non-hierarchical approach in your collaboration with colleagues, students, and guardians.
• You have the ability to plan and organize your work. You are good at setting goals, organizing resources, as well as following up and concluding activities.

Employment type: Permanent position.
Duration: Permanent.
Working hours: Daytime.

As a final candidate, you must be able to provide a police certificate of good conduct for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.
