Drottning Blankas Gymnasieskola in Gävle was established in 2013 and offers vocational and university-preparatory education within the Economics Programme, Social Sciences Programme, Hairdressing and Styling Programme, as well as Sales and Service Programme. The school has approximately 400 students and 35 employees. We are now looking for two certified teachers in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language.

Your assignment

We offer a temporary position as a teacher in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language starting on August 10, 2026.

The temporary position is intended to replace an employee who is on parental leave. The plan is that the parental leave will cover the entire upcoming academic year, but the scope and duration may change in accordance with current legislation, such as the Parental Leave Act. The position is valid during the regular employee's absence, but no later than August 11, 2027.

The employment percentage is between 50%.

Your profile

We are primarily looking for you who have certification and eligibility in Swedish/Swedish as a Second Language. It is an advantage if you also have experience supervising upper secondary theses.

Therefore, we are looking for you who have a strong personal commitment to both the content of the education and communication with students and guardians. We believe in the motto "it is important to us that you are doing well" and therefore do that little extra to ensure our students graduate.

As a teacher, you are receptive, have good structure in both planning and lesson design, and have a good ability to create motivation and a good study environment among our students.

As a colleague, you take responsibility for both small and large issues in everyday life and want to contribute actively to the school's development during joint conferences.

As a subject teacher, you are part of a work team at the school. You work closely together and have continuous conferences to develop the program and collaboration regarding assessment issues.
