About Björksätraskolan

In Sandviken's municipal primary schools, we work in a culture where collaboration and systematic quality work go hand in hand. Here, a safe and supportive environment with high expectations is created, giving students good opportunities to reach their goals. Digital development has long been a natural part of our operations, and every student has access to their own computer as support in teaching. Our shared values and an organization with short decision-making paths contribute to participation, clarity, and good opportunities for development.

Björksätraskolan is a grades 1-9 school with nearly 700 students, where approximately 380 students are in grades 7–9. We are a proud part of the Southern Primary School Area together with Jernvallsskolan (grades 1-6) and Sätra School (grades 1-6). The area has a common principal and seven engaged assistant principals who together lead the work forward with a focus on quality and development.

Here you meet a school that is both accessible and close to nature. Good communications, forest and nature just outside the window, and several sports facilities within reach create opportunities for variation and movement.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher in Social Studies (SO) and Physical Education for grades 7-9, you become an important part of creating teaching where student development is at the center. You work both independently and together with the subject team to develop teaching in a sustainable and thoughtful way.

You contribute by:

• Creating teaching that starts from the students' needs and prerequisites
• Being a clear leader and role model in the classroom
• Building good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians
• Actively participating in the school's development work within language development and teaching development.

We make each other better by:

• Sharing experiences and knowledge in collegial forums
• Working with a solution-focused approach
• Developing teaching together in subject teams
• Having a shared responsibility for the students' safety and learning

Qualifications

To succeed in the role, you need to have good pedagogical insight and understand how students absorb knowledge in different ways. You adapt teaching based on the individual's needs and create conditions for learning. A structured work approach helps you plan and follow up on teaching in a clear and effective way.

Collaboration is a natural part of everyday life. You work attentively together with colleagues, share experiences, and contribute to an open climate where teaching is developed jointly. In a changing school environment, it is also important to be able to absorb new ideas and working methods and to see the possibilities in them. By being development-oriented, you contribute to the school's collective learning.

For the assignment, the following are required:

• Teaching license with eligibility in Social Studies (SO) and Physical Education
• Good knowledge of the primary school's steering documents
• Good proficiency in Swedish, both orally and in writing

Good digital competence and experience using digital tools are meritorious.
