We are looking for 1-2 research assistants for a fixed-term position at the Department of Medical Sciences.
Background
The Nutrition-Gut-Brain Axis research group prioritizes human research to understand the interactions between diet, microbiota, gut health, and brain health. The research group collaborates across disciplinary boundaries and has a broad network within both academia and industry.
Responsibilities
We are seeking research assistants who, during the autumn term of 2026, will participate in research activities with the task of supporting ongoing research studies. The tasks vary depending on needs. Examples of tasks include inventorying samples, digitization, preparation of materials for study participants, recruitment of study participants, and laboratory work. Additional tasks may be added. In addition to these duties, the research assistant is expected to conduct their own studies on a full-time basis.
Qualifications
To be eligible for employment as a research assistant, you must be admitted to a first-cycle or second-cycle program and be studying at Örebro University.
We are looking for someone who has shown interest in research questions during your studies. We place emphasis on your personal qualities, such as the ability to work independently, good teamwork skills, a service-oriented attitude, and the ability to prioritize tasks. Since communication regarding research questions often takes place in English, we expect you to be comfortable with this.
Information
The position is 12.5% for approximately 4 months, with a possibility of extension. Start date by agreement. Salary is paid in accordance with the local collective agreement.
Research assistants may be employed for a maximum of one year at a time. The total employment period for a research assistant may not exceed three years.
