About the position

We are looking for two after-school teachers: one permanent position and one fixed-term contract (see dates under "Start date"). In your application, you can specify which position you are most interested in. As an after-school teacher, you will plan, implement, and evaluate the activities. You will become part of a team working to create a good learning environment where we develop our activities based on the students' interests. We collaborate closely with a whole-day perspective to create a creative and developmental environment with high goal achievement and safe students. At our school, we actively work with Generation Pep, focusing heavily on movement and physical activity, both during the school day and in the after-school program. During the day, you are part of the school activities, supporting students and collaborating with other educators. The role also includes responsibility for opening and closing the after-school facility.

Examples of tasks:

  • Support students' social development and upbringing.
  • Use methods and approaches that lead to increased goal achievement.
  • Stay updated on current research within the field.
  • Work and document in the existing activity systems.
  • Know and follow the organization's current laws, policies, and routines.

About the workplace

Björkhagaskolan is a preschool class to grade 3 school with approximately 140 children. The school is centrally located in Björkhaga, Örebro, with a traffic-free environment and proximity to green areas such as Karlslundsskogen and Varbergaskogen. Learning is always our focus. We want our students to gain good subject knowledge and insight into what it means to be a democratic citizen. It is important to us that students learn that differences are good, that they respect each other, and take responsibility for themselves and others. Students are encouraged to have influence and participate to create a safe climate.

With trust and courage, we build our preschools and schools together, taking on future challenges for the best of every child.

Qualifications

As an after-school teacher, you have good collaboration skills, listen actively, and contribute to a calm and safe school environment. You are confident in your role, see the big picture, and adapt to needs. You have knowledge of child development and learning, as well as the ability to adapt activities to the group and individual students' needs. We expect you to be driven, structured, and take responsibility for your tasks. You are innovative, solution-focused, and bring new ideas. You have fluent Swedish in both speech and writing to communicate with children, guardians, and colleagues, as well as to document activities. Good computer skills are required as the work involves digital documentation.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
