The Payroll Department

The payroll unit belongs to the finance department and handles approximately 2,000 payroll disbursements every month. The unit consists of four payroll consultants who together ensure professional, quality-assured, and efficient payroll management for the municipality's operations. We are in an exciting phase of development where digitalization, automation, and the development of our payroll processes are in focus. With us, improvement work is a natural part of everyday life, and we are now looking for you who want to help shape the future payroll function.

Responsibilities

As a payroll consultant, you work broadly within the payroll area and are responsible for ensuring a correct, efficient, and digital payroll process. You work with both the details in the ongoing work and the overall payroll process.

An important part of the assignment is to contribute to the development of the payroll process through digitalization and improvement work. You work on identifying and reducing manual tasks and developing more effective and quality-assured working methods that support the operations throughout the municipality.

The ongoing work includes, among other things, registration of employment, handling of absence as well as additions and deductions, work with monitoring and signal lists, pension administration, as well as control and quality assurance of payroll data and disbursements. You also handle ongoing payroll questions and provide support to managers in payroll-related matters as well as in the use of digital self-service tools.

The role includes payroll management for both the municipality and a company, which means working within several different collective agreement areas.

Requirements

  • Education in payroll management or other equivalent education
  • At least 3 years of experience in qualified payroll work
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both orally and in writing
  • Good system familiarity and an interest in digital solutions

Meritorious

  • Experience in driving digitalization or improvement projects
  • Experience with payroll systems, preferably eCompanion
  • Experience in pension administration
  • Experience in payroll work within municipal operations and its regulations

Personal Qualities

We see that you as an applicant are an engaged and driven person who thrives in a developing operation. We are a joint support function for managers and employees where we work consultatively, with "help for self-help". As a person, you are meticulous and structured, with a good ability to prioritize and maintain focus even during periods of high tempo. You are communicative and solution-oriented and thrive in a role with many contact surfaces where service and collaboration are a natural part of everyday life.

To thrive in the role, we see that you are proactive and get things done. You are happy to share your knowledge and actively contribute to both the team's and the operation's development through a strong commitment to improving working methods and processes.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
