Do you want to help shape tomorrow's global citizens? Futuraskolan is now looking for an engaged and relationship-building school counselor for a one-year part-time (50%) temporary position starting in August.

Futuraskolan operates six preschools and seven primary schools in Stockholm County, with a total of approximately 450 employees and over 2,800 children and students. Our operations have an appealing international focus where we concentrate on the learning of children and students through the international programs IPC and IMYC. About the Role

As a school counselor with us, you primarily work with preventive and health-promoting activities within the school's student health team. You are a key person in equipping our students for the future, both academically and socially.

Your responsibilities include:

• Planning and conducting Life Skills education to strengthen students' socio-emotional abilities, self-esteem, and decision-making skills.
• Conducting advisory and supportive conversations with students, as well as performing assessments when necessary.
• Collaborating closely with teachers, school management, and other professionals in the school.
• Cooperating with social services and other external authorities.
• Handling documentation and investigating bullying and other incidents.
• Actively participating in the classroom environment with observations, preventive safety work, and group-strengthening exercises.

Who are you?

To thrive and succeed in this role, you are a person who is explicitly skilled at creating, maintaining, and developing professional relationships with both students and guardians as well as colleagues. You have high empathy, are receptive, and easily put yourself in others' perspectives. You are confident in the leadership role in the classroom and have good pedagogical skills to plan and coordinate interventions effectively based on the scope of the position.

Your qualifications

• Education: Degree in Social Work (Socionom).
• Experience: At least 2 years of work experience in social work.
• Language: Good knowledge of Swedish (in both speech and writing) and good knowledge of English (in speech), as we have an international profile.

Merits for the position:

• Experience in leading education, workshops, or group discussions regarding Life Skills/life skills for young people.
• Documented knowledge and experience in supportive work with children and youth.
• Previous experience working as a school counselor.
• Advanced knowledge of various counseling methods.
• Broad experience from other areas within social work, for example, from social services.
