Palmbladsgatan is a day activity centre for individuals covered by person group 1 under the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). The workplace is located in airy, pleasant premises spread over two floors with a total area of 600 square meters. The workplace is currently divided into different areas such as music, atelier, podcasting, and carpentry, involving close collaboration with colleagues. The centre accepts participants between the ages of 18 and 65. The centre has a capacity limit of 46 places. The centre is located in Slavsta at Palmbladsgatan 2 in Uppsala and has good bus connections. We have a LOV (Free Choice of Service) agreement with Uppsala Municipality and also accept individuals from other municipalities on individual agreements. At Palmbladsgatan, we believe in lifelong learning and we want to create a workplace where every individual is given the opportunity to succeed and the conditions to grow.

About the position
The role of Work Instructor offers you a varied and eventful job where adaptation and change are always in focus. As a Work Instructor, you will contribute to further developing the activities within your respective area while having the opportunity to work in a creative environment. You will also collaborate with other colleagues and be involved in the overall work and planning for the entire centre. All staff members have a role as a contact person for one or more participants. The role of contact person includes, among other things, creating an implementation plan together with the participant and/or their representative regarding how and when support should be provided, as well as how we work together to achieve the participant's goals and sub-goals. The participants have functional variations covered under person group 1, such as intellectual disability, autism, or autism-like conditions. Additional diagnoses such as dyslexia, ADHD, ADD, Tourette's, and behavioral issues may also occur. We apply a six-month probation period. The position is a part-time role of approximately 90%. Working hours are during the day, Monday to Friday.

Who are you?
You need to enjoy change, be driven, and have good organizational and planning skills, as your work will involve creating schedules for the activities at both the individual and group levels. You must have the ability to share your knowledge in a pedagogical way and put the participants in the spotlight. Your work primarily involves instructing and guiding participants in their daily activities. You plan, initiate, drive, conclude, and follow up on processes and tasks related to textile and wood crafts, as well as providing support and service based on care decisions. Furthermore, you are service-oriented, have a professional attitude in all situations, and find it easy to collaborate with participants, relatives, colleagues, and other partners such as housing services and social workers. It is important that you can work independently but also collaboratively with others.

Since we know that different perspectives and life experiences contribute to a stronger and more innovative workplace, we especially welcome male applicants, older applicants, or applicants of foreign origin.

Requirements for this position:

  • Upper secondary education in social work, care, or pedagogy.
  • Computer proficiency and good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, are required as documentation is an important part of the job.
  • Experience and knowledge of the target group.
  • Category B driver's license.
