About the Role

Mellerud Music School is part of Kultur Mellerud, a unit responsible for voluntary music education, music education in primary schools, the library, the youth house, and program activities (Kulturbruket på Dal).

Responsibilities

As a music teacher with us, you will teach students in grades 1–6 and become an integral part of an engaged and creative team. Together with our other music teachers – currently five colleagues – you will be responsible for music education across all of the municipality's primary schools.

Tasks within the team are distributed based on each teacher's strengths, experience, and interests. This provides great freedom and the opportunity to shape a role that feels both personal and professionally rewarding.

You will also play a central role in several of the school's traditions, such as school graduations and Lucia processions, where we collaborate closely with the music school's teachers. The music subject in Mellerud has high goal achievement rates, and we hope that you, specifically, will want to help drive this development forward.

Depending on your instrumental skills, the position may also be combined with teaching in our voluntary music activities or at the youth house.

Qualifications

You are a certified subject teacher in music. You are well-versed in the curriculum documents and have good verbal and written communication skills in Swedish. A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.

You are flexible and have strong collaboration skills, with an ease in building good relationships and cooperating with students, guardians, and colleagues. In your pedagogical leadership, you are a clear leader who has the ability to create a work environment characterized by security, trust, and respect.
