International Visiting Professor in Textile Management with a focus on Textile Value Chains and Regenerative Business Practices
Your Responsibilities
As a visiting professor, you will perform the following tasks:
- Conduct research on regenerative textile value chains, with an overarching focus on risk assessment, the development of metrics, and decision support for the industry.
- Contribute to advanced education by delivering research-based lectures, participating in master's courses, and supervising theses within textile value chains.
- Strengthen interdisciplinary research by integrating sustainability analysis and textile management in collaboration with other researchers at the University of Borås.
- Build and develop international research networks, particularly between the University of Borås and IIT Delhi, for joint projects and doctoral collaborations.
- Collaborate with industry partners to translate research into practice by supporting companies with insights, tools, and frameworks for regenerative business models.
- Publish research results in scientific journals and present and communicate them at national and international conferences.
- Participate in ongoing research projects and develop new research applications within textile management.
- Contribute to long-term collaborations by establishing knowledge and innovation networks and supporting future joint funding, policy dialogue, and global partnerships.
Your Qualifications
The following qualifications are required for the position:
- Documented scientific proficiency and experience in textile management or equivalent competence in industrial economics or operations management.
- Documented pedagogical proficiency.
- Experience as a primary supervisor for, typically, at least one doctoral student from the start of doctoral studies to the defense of the thesis.
- Research excellence in sustainable and circular textile value chains.
- Extensive experience in internationally recognized academic work.
- A comprehensive publication record in collaboration with international researchers.
- Experience leading and contributing to international research projects focused on circularity, sustainability, and industrial applications.
- Extensive teaching experience.
- Well-integrated international academic and industrial networks, including collaborations with leading universities, companies, and policy organizations.
- Ability to initiate and develop collaborations through joint publications, doctoral supervision, and cross-institutional research projects.
- Experience working with global companies and translating research into practical, application-oriented knowledge.
Your Employment
Type of employment: Visiting Professor HF Chapter 4 Section 12, for one year with the possibility of extension. The total employment period for a visiting professor may not exceed five years.
Extent: 25 %
