You want to make a difference and be part of shaping the future. With us, you will gain trust, development opportunities, and work alongside knowledgeable colleagues. The school places great emphasis on collaboration; we work together and are convinced that everyone wants and can learn.

About the School

Byttorp School is a comprehensive school (grades F-6) with approximately 270 students, striving for high goal achievement, dedicated staff, and motivated pupils. The school consists of after-school programs (fritids), pre-school class, and classes for grades 1–6. Starting from the autumn term of 2026, a newly established KSU group (Class for Special Educational Needs) will be added.

An student health team supports the operations and students in their daily work. Byttorp School is located close to nature and the lake, yet still near the city center. Due to its central location, we have easy access to the city's cultural offerings.

Responsibilities

Your position is located in the school's newly established KSU group for students with autism. You will follow the students during lessons, occasionally provide individual instruction, and supervise students during breaks and transitions. You will also work in the school's after-school program during mornings and afternoons.

As a student assistant, you are a positive role model and a secure adult presence. You are active and involved in the students' daily life, contributing stability, structure, and routines.

You are expected to work according to the intentions outlined in the students' action plans and maintain good, continuous communication with the student's teacher and guardians. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. You should be a secure person with an attitude that aligns with the school's core values. We expect you to be open to meeting children and adults from diverse backgrounds and with different prerequisites.

You will be part of a team where we learn from each other, plan cross-curricular activities, and solve challenges together. Support in your work, beyond the team, is provided by the student health services and school management.

Qualifications

You have relevant upper secondary education, for example in Child and Youth Care, Student Assistant training, or alternatively a degree in Special Needs Education or Social Pedagogy from a Folk High School or University College. For this position, knowledge and experience working with students in need of special support is considered a merit.

We are looking for someone who is creative, sees opportunities, and focuses on the student's strengths. We want you to help us develop our operations. You find working with students stimulating and have the ability to view students from a holistic perspective. You are flexible, creative, structured, and enjoy challenges. You have good collaboration skills and a positive attitude towards students, parents, and colleagues.
