As an Innovation Advisor, you can contribute to making research beneficial to society through collaboration with the public sector, private business, and civil society actors.

Your responsibilities

We are looking for you who want to contribute to strengthening the university's innovation advisory services. As an Innovation Advisor, you will support the university's management, researchers, and students with advice on the exploitation of research results, management of intellectual property and rights, and external funding opportunities. You are the natural contact point between the University of Borås and other networks/arenas working to promote innovation and exploitation (Innovation Office West (IKV), Industrial Dynamics, Science Parks/Incubators, SNITTS, among others). You also contribute to quality assurance of project applications, primarily regarding the description of dissemination, exploitation, and impact of research results. Your main tasks include:

  • supporting university staff in the strategic management of research results to enable exploitation
  • providing advice on external innovation funding
  • initiating and implementing proactive measures, focusing on intellectual property and funding opportunities for exploitation
  • serving as the university's representative in regional and national innovation arenas and networks
  • building and maintaining networks and collaborations at regional, national, and international levels
  • supporting university researchers and students in inventorying, developing, managing, protecting, funding, and presenting their intellectual property and ideas
  • providing support in research application processes, primarily in parts related to the description of dissemination, exploitation, and impact of research results
  • serving as the university's representative in Innovation Office West (IKV) and enabling university staff to apply for IKV funds for exploitation (VFT funding)
  • collaborating proactively and strategically with the university's various academies and their researchers to strengthen the university's innovation capacity
  • assisting Science Park Borås (SPB) with needs-based support to strengthen collaboration with other parts of the university.

The work is largely independent, with significant personal responsibility, but with support from GIO's other functions and the university's operational support. As an Innovation Advisor, you are expected to prepare materials such as reports, presentations, and various documents. You will also conduct presentations and lectures, both in Swedish and English.

Your qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must have a degree at least at the master's level, knowledge of and experience with the innovation system, and good communication skills in Swedish and English.

Personal suitability will be given great weight. You need to have good pedagogical skills with documented ability to plan and conduct presentations. Furthermore, documented ability to collaborate and nurture relationships is required. You should have good administrative skills and be able to plan and follow up on your work. You are communicative, responsive, and proactive. You have a good ability to adapt your work to the needs of the operation and are responsible and trustworthy.

Merits:

  • Doctoral degree.
  • Experience in innovation advisory services.
  • Experience in planning/implementing proactive seminars and similar activities.
  • Experience collaborating with the region's innovation office.
  • Experience in innovation advisory services regarding EU funding.
  • Experience in supervision/advisory at an academic level.
  • Knowledge of funders relevant to the assignment.
  • Experience with RDI funding valuable for Library and Information Science, Business and IT, The Human in Care, Pedagogical Work, Resource Recovery, and Textile and Fashion.

Employment type: Permanent. A six-month probationary period may apply.
