Rickarum School and Preschool is located in a small community where many parents and villagers are passionate about the operations and contribute to the community and the creative learning environment.

Nature is our primary pedagogical room. It gives children and staff the opportunity to use the surroundings with forests, lakes, and meadows for creative learning and a healthy work environment.

With approximately 50 children in the preschool and 50 students in the school, everyone knows each other. We can work in an age-integrated and flexible way that promotes the development of each child. The employees in the different parts of the operation work together to create learning based on care, competence, and heart. Together, the staff consists of 30 people. We place great emphasis on a work environment where staff, students, and children feel joy in coming to the preschool and school in the morning.

Does Rickarum sound remote? Not at all – the school is located 2.5 miles from Kristianstad and Hässleholm, and in less than an hour, you are in Malmö or Lund. A hidden gem in a lively countryside with short distances to everything.

We are now looking for an engaged and certified crafts teacher for grades 3–6. We are in need of both a wood and metal crafts teacher and a textile crafts teacher. It is a plus if you can teach both textile as well as wood and metal crafts.

In the role, you will:

• Plan, implement, and evaluate crafts education (both wood/metal and textile) for grades 3–6 based on the Swedish National Curriculum (Lgr22).
• Be responsible for material purchases and safety routines.
• Create a safe, inspiring, and creative learning environment where students dare to try things out.

We are looking for you who:

• Are a certified crafts teacher.
• Have experience and knowledge, preferably in both wood and metal crafts as well as textile crafts.
• See each student's individual needs and adapt your teaching so that all students are given the prerequisites to reach the knowledge goals.
• Have good communication skills and the ability to build good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Are good at documentation and master the Swedish language in speech and writing.
• Are solution-focused and see opportunities instead of obstacles.
• Appreciate the opportunities of a smaller operation.
• Want to develop an operation that has the vision that nature should be the primary learning environment.

About Us

Rickarum School Association has run a preschool since 2012 and a school for grades F–5 and after-school care since 2015, "the little school in nature." We are a non-profit association that reinvests any profit into the operation and grows at a sustainable pace. The food is prepared from scratch in our own new kitchen. Qualifications

Requirements:

• Certified crafts teacher with eligibility to teach in grades 4–6. Well-versed in the school's curriculum and documentation.

Merits:

• Experience working as a teacher.
• Experience and interest in outdoor pedagogy and experiential learning.
• Valid driver's license (Class B).
• Experience working in independent schools and/or experience in non-profit operations.
