About the role and your responsibilities

Your main task will be to teach Swedish and English. You will conduct teaching based on current curriculum documents, participate in the school's pedagogical development, and serve as a mentor for a class within the Social Sciences programme. The role also involves collaborating with the student health team and other teachers to ensure our students achieve their upper secondary school diplomas. We look at the student's whole situation, focusing on their development in learning and social context.

This is a permanent position at 100% starting on 2026-08-07.

We are looking for someone who...

... is a certified upper secondary school teacher in Swedish and English. You have a positive view of students, believing that all students can and want to learn, and you have the ability to create enthusiasm in various learning situations. It is important that you have an inclusive mindset and are well-versed in the upper secondary school curriculum documents.

We would appreciate it if you had previous experience working as a teacher at an upper secondary school and have good knowledge of how to work with adaptations in the classroom and during examinations.

To succeed in this role, you need to be curious and willing to challenge both the students and yourself. You are also independent, stable, flexible, and have good collaboration skills, preferably with a good sense of humor.

Polhemskolan, located in the heart of central Lund, is Sweden's largest upper secondary school with approximately 2,600 students. A school of our size constitutes a dynamic meeting and workplace for teachers who are passionate about their profession and want to develop together with others.

Students applying to Polhemskolan can choose between the Social Sciences programme, four-year Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Technology, Economics, and Hairdressing and Styling. Students with a special interest in physics or mathematics can choose one of our specialized programs, and for those who wish to develop their sports skills alongside their upper secondary studies, both National Sports Education (NIU) and Local Sports Gymnasium are offered.
