Practical Gymnasium in Ystad is looking for a General Education Teacher (GG) in History and Social Studies

Practical Gymnasium Ystad offers students a concept where theory is mixed with practical exercises, both at school and at workplaces. At Practical, we hold ourselves to high standards to create the best conditions for an educational and enjoyable experience. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our program offerings include: carpentry, painting, electrical work, hairdressing, styling, sales, plumbing, refrigeration technology, and nursing assistance. Currently, the school has just under 300 students and approximately 35 employees.

Job Information

The position is a 100% temporary assignment starting on 2026-08-10 and ending on 2027-01-08. You will teach and supervise our students in social studies and history. Together with other colleagues, you will be part of a work team. We see you as an important and driving force to develop both the program and the subject, with the students in focus and in collaboration with colleagues. In addition to vocational-specific tasks, you will have duties such as mentor, similar to other teachers at the school. Together with your colleagues, you will coach the students socially and academically throughout their three years at Practical Gymnasium.

We primarily communicate through Schoolsoft and StudyBee, and we work in a Google environment by sharing digital documents, calendars, and plans.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who are a certified vocational teacher in history and social studies and are trained as a secondary school teacher. We place great emphasis on personal qualities. We value your ability to meet students based on their knowledge and needs, and that you identify with our values and keywords. Our students are eager to enter the workforce, and your biggest task is to guide them there!
