Job Responsibilities

At Munkhätte School, we are now looking for a qualified teacher in the combination of Science (NO), Technology, Mathematics, and Swedish for Year 4. In your teaching role with us, you will plan your teaching based on each student's needs, conduct the lessons, and assess the knowledge acquired by your students. The planning of your teaching takes place both individually and in collaboration with colleagues. Your teaching is based on each student's needs and aims to reach and find strategies to strengthen your students, both academically and in their personal development. You systematically evaluate and develop the pedagogical work based on the school's governing documents and the student's needs, individually as well as together with both the work team and the subject team. You collaborate with other school staff and actively participate in the school's development work. The role also includes mentorship.

Qualifications

You must be a certified teacher with qualifications in Science subjects, Technology, Mathematics, and Swedish for teaching in Years 4–6. Qualifications in Science, Mathematics, and Swedish are required, but we would prefer that you also have qualifications in additional subjects. At Munkhätte School, we work with Singapore Mathematics, and this approach to teaching means you should be familiar with the working method and willing to work with this method in your mathematics teaching.

At Munkhätte School, we also work with SKUA (Language and Knowledge-Developing Methods), so it is obviously a great asset if you are well-versed in this way of working and the activities and methods used, as most of our students have a mother tongue other than Swedish. Experience in the teaching profession carries significant weight, and you need to have very good digital competence. If you have previous experience in school development, we also see this as highly meritorious. We are looking for someone who finds it easy to collaborate with everyone, as we work closely in both work teams and subject teams. Developing through collegial learning permeates all operations at the school.

Having a positive outlook and a friendly attitude that can spread to everyone around you is valuable, and you should be able to work effectively with low affectivity in all situations. Naturally, you have a professional approach towards students and their guardians and work towards good relationships with everyone you come into contact with.

About the Workplace

Munkhätte School is a Year 0–9 school with approximately 650 students, of whom 30 are enrolled in our adapted comprehensive school focusing on both subjects and subject areas. Our school is relatively newly renovated, which provides good conditions and high accessibility in the physical learning environment, with ample access to group rooms and large spaces. 140 fantastic employees with broad competence work at the school. We strive for high quality and equal teaching in our classrooms. The teaching is based on a common lesson structure and common working models. We actively work with "Writing to Read" (ASL) and Reciprocal Teaching (RU) in Swedish, as well as the Singapore Model in Mathematics.

We work systematically with follow-up and use data to prioritize and direct resources so that they have an effect on students' progression and results. The school's lead teachers have a clearly defined role focused on identified areas of development in systematic quality work. The lead teachers support colleagues and are responsible for driving collegial learning together with the school management. The school's student health team works primarily preventively and health-promoting, supporting teachers and other school staff in creating environments that promote learning, development, and health. The special needs educator works closely with the work team and serves as support in leadership, stimulation, and support measures. The professions within student health have a special responsibility to remove obstacles for each individual student's learning and development.

The Comprehensive School Administration – the city's largest administration with approximately 80 schools, 6,300 employees, and 36,000 students – offers a workplace for everyone.
