At the Society and Infrastructure Administration, more than 180 employees work with the planning, construction, operation, and development of the municipality's physical environments. The administration works for a sustainable and attractive society where environment, infrastructure, and services collaborate for residents and businesses. The Building and Environment Division consists of three units, and this position belongs to the Food and Health unit. The unit consists of 10 employees, including 2 administrators, 7 environmental protection inspectors, and you as the manager.

You will be part of a management group consisting of 3 unit managers, 2 development leaders, and the division manager.

Responsibilities

As Unit Manager, you lead the Food and Health Unit, which works with control based on Food Legislation, supervision based on the Environmental Code with a focus on health protection, as well as case processing and supervision within the alcohol and tobacco areas. The unit also houses the administrative resources that work for both units within the environmental and health protection area. You are responsible for developing, planning, and implementing operations together with your employees to achieve set goals and realize politically made decisions.

You lead the work in developing employees and working methods to drive a service-oriented and enabling authority exercise in an efficient manner. We work solution-oriented to make all of Alingsås both attractive and sustainable, with customer satisfaction in focus.

You lead and distribute the work, as well as coach and support your employees. You and your operation are an important part of the work the municipality does for its residents, which is why it is important that you collaborate and communicate with other actors both internally and externally.

As Unit Manager for the Food and Health Unit, you have operational, economic, and personnel responsibility. In addition to working with your unit, you are expected to be active in the work regarding the entire division's operations and development.

The position also includes participating in political meetings, representing Västra Götaland in SKR's manager network SNOL, and being the coordinator for Agency Collaboration (Mys) in Alingsås Municipality. You also have a special responsibility for the division's business development work.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• University education in natural sciences or equivalent educational background considered equivalent by the employer.
• Knowledge of the Environmental Code and food legislation.
• Experience working with authority exercise within the environmental and health protection area.

Merits:
