Do you want to take on strategic leadership in a socially vital operation? We are now looking for an experienced Department Manager for Västtrafik for a consultancy assignment via Jefferson Wells, located centrally in Skövde.

About the assignment

This is a consultancy role as Department Manager within the demand-responsive transport operation, i.e., door-to-door transport and other service trips. The assignment runs from August to December 2026.

In this role, you have overall responsibility for leading and developing a business that enables sustainable travel for people with special needs. The focus is on leadership, steering, and development of teams and operations, rather than operational detail management.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of approximately 8 employees with full personnel responsibility
• Drive change, development, and improvement of working methods
• Ensure strong and sustainable collaborations with external partners
• Contribute to strategic development within the operation
• Be an active part of the management and coordination forum

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a secure and clear leader with the ability to create engagement, direction, and results.

You have:

• Several years of experience in leadership with personnel responsibility
• Documented experience in leading change and developing operations
• Post-secondary education in areas such as economics, management, or equivalent
• Ability to work both strategically and close to the operations

Your leadership is characterized by:

• Goal-orientation and a holistic perspective
• Ability to motivate, engage, and develop employees
• Clear communication and relationship-building approach
• Customer focus, flexibility, and proactivity

Experience from public transport or contract-managed operations is meritorious but not decisive, but understanding and experience regarding working with establishment, procurement, development, and/or follow-up of contracts is beneficial.
