Job Responsibilities
Are you an inspiring leader with experience in building strong teams? Do you have a passion for health promotion, club activities, and leading teams toward common goals? Then you might be the one we are looking for! As we expand, we are now seeking two unit managers who, with courage and a forward-looking attitude, want to contribute to developing and maintaining vibrant and well-visited sports and health facilities.
As a unit manager, you will play a key role in leading, planning, developing, and being responsible for the daily operations of your unit. You will have full responsibility for the operations, economy, personnel, and work environment. Your mission is to ensure high service quality, meet regulatory requirements, and contribute to improved public health. You will:
- Direct, develop, and secure work from a customer and holistic perspective.
- Lead and develop your employees through visible leadership and clear communication.
- Translate, break down, and clarify goals, guidelines, and priorities.
- Work actively with internal and external collaboration to create added value.
- Be part of the operational area's management group and contribute to the department's overall steering and operational development.
Angered Arena is a multi-arena offering a swimming pool, gym, group training, as well as ice and sports halls. As the unit manager for the health promotion activities at Angered Arena, you are responsible for the gym and reception. On the arena, you work closely together with two managerial colleagues responsible for the swimming area and the ice/sports hall area, respectively. Together with the employees, you drive the development of the arena, which is also an important activity in the area. The responsibility also includes Bergum Leisure Farm. We are undergoing a reorganization to meet future development and expansion within sports and clubs. This means that the assignment may change.
Health Promotion Southwest is a unit starting on October 1st, consisting of existing gym and health facilities in Ruddalen, Skatås, and Slottskogsvallen. The facility in Skatås includes responsibility for cold water pools. The unit will consist of approximately 17 sports workers, a team leader, and a coordinator. Together with the employees, you will actively work to reach prioritized target groups and make Gothenburg healthier. You will have close cooperation with managerial colleagues within the department. You will also, together with your coordinator, be responsible for driving development within the focus area of gyms.
The work is scheduled during daytime, Monday to Friday, but some evening and weekend work may occur as needed, as well as on-call duty approximately every 10th week.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have a university or college education, or equivalent work experience and training from the employer related to the managerial role that the employer deems relevant. You must have leadership experience and knowledge within economics, work environment, organization, and leadership. It is meritorious if you have managerial experience where you have had operational, budget, and personnel responsibility from an operational, delivery, and service organization. It is also meritorious if you have experience within the swimming area, as well as leadership experience from a politically governed organization. It is meritorious if you have experience with farms and animal husbandry.

You drive your unit forward through initiatives for improvements and regularly reflect on what needs to be developed in your operations. As a leader, you are proactive, tackle challenges, solve problems, and make decisions that lead forward. You are professional and can navigate based on the City of Gothenburg's guidelines.
With a holistic perspective, you show interest in and collaborate on overarching issues to create added value. You have the ability to place your own operations' significance in a larger context, inspire, motivate, and engage your employees and your surroundings.
Your good cooperation skills are shown by listening, showing interest, and respect. At the same time, you can act independently based on what situations require, with the courage to make your own decisions within the framework of your assignment, without being dependent on others.
