Åvestadal School (Grades 7-9) is part of the municipality's southern school district and is located in Krylbo, close to beautiful natural and outdoor recreation areas. The school has a broad catchment area, and its approximately 360 students reflect the society we live in, representing the diversity that is our shared future – a school in the middle of the world. The school actively promotes inclusion and values-based work, both preventively and reactively. Åvestadal School has a high level of teacher qualifications, good collegial learning, and a well-functioning student health team. The school has an established positive school culture with good collaboration within both subject teams and work teams, with the student's learning at the center. Job Responsibilities
The responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching for the subjects included in the position (primarily mathematics and chemistry), both individually and in collaboration with colleagues. You adapt the teaching based on the student's needs, prerequisites, and previous experiences. You systematically follow the students' knowledge development, document progress, and keep guardians informed about the student's development.
You are responsible for maintaining a good overview and care regarding students' school days and social situations, in collaboration with colleagues, guardians, authorities, and other contacts around the student. In consultation with the student health team, you work to ensure that relevant measures are implemented for students in need of additional support.
Other duties that may occur within the position include mentorship roles, recess supervision, ordering educational materials, and pedagogical lunches.
Qualifications
We place great emphasis on pedagogical leadership in the classroom and are looking for you who are an engaged, clear leader with an approach that includes clarity combined with sensitivity. You are secure, stable, and have the ability to create good relationships with students, where the student feels seen, confirmed, and believed in. You also have a good ability to build trusting relationships with guardians. Experience in pedagogical situations is an advantage.
You have good knowledge of the national curriculum documents and the ability to adapt teaching based on the needs of the group and the individual, with the aim of providing good conditions for the students' knowledge development. You plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively and take initiative for collaboration with others. You have a professional approach, and your work is permeated by well-founded ethical values.
Other qualifications:
- A permanent employment requires teacher certification in the subjects included in the position.
- Experience in teaching is meritorious.
- You must be able to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
- You have sufficient IT skills to handle the systems and digital tools required for the assignment.
