About the role and your tasks

Östratorn School is looking for an engaged special needs teacher (specialpedagog) for the school's special education group. As a special needs teacher, you will be part of a work team consisting of another special needs teacher and a special educator. Together, you will be responsible for Östratorn School's special education group, "Flexen", and collaborate with class teachers and the school's student health team.

Students with special needs attend "Flexen" for full days, part of the day, or individual lessons. Your task as a special needs teacher is to challenge and support students to achieve daily success in their schoolwork as well as their social development. You are also responsible for the daily operations, which includes scheduling for students in Flexen and close contact with guardians.

In the role of special needs teacher, together with teachers and the student health team, you will contribute to providing students with the guidance and stimulation they need for their learning and personal development. This is to ensure that students can develop as far as possible according to the educational goals, based on their own prerequisites.

In your work, you are expected to, among other things, participate in the preparation of investigations and action plans, as well as follow-up and evaluation of these. As a special needs teacher, you also work practically to provide students with support measures and teach both individually, in groups, and in regular teaching situations. In addition to this, you may have a consulting and supervisory role towards colleagues. In close collaboration with teachers, pedagogues, and school management, you develop classroom work and the school's support for students' development towards the goals.

You will be part of the student health team at the school and participate in preventive and promoting work so that all students at the school receive adequate support. The work involves many contact areas with students, staff, and guardians. An important part of the work is to identify developmental needs and be driving the development towards the school's common goals. Another part of the work includes knowledge dissemination to pedagogues and guardians about compensatory measures.

We are looking for you

We are looking for someone who:

• has a teaching license for primary school and is educated as a special educator or special needs teacher.
• has several years of documented experience as a special educator or special needs teacher.
• is a team player and sees collaboration as a natural prerequisite for succeeding in your assignment.
• has a strong commitment and takes great responsibility for student health work as well as preventive and promoting work.
• has the ability to create good relationships and communicates clearly with students, guardians, and colleagues.
• is self-reliant and has the ability to conduct your work independently.
