Your Responsibilities

We have a teacher on parental leave during the 2026–2027 academic year, and we are therefore looking for you who can substitute in teaching Film and TV Studies, and Visual Arts and Design 1 in national programs, as well as Visual Arts in the Introductory Program. You will have support from other knowledgeable colleagues in a team within the Arts Program. You are expected to plan, conduct, and assess courses, but you will also receive support from experienced teachers on the program. It is important that you have subject knowledge and a relational approach to the students you meet.

VBU focuses on good relationships and a positive school culture, and we have a well-functioning student health team.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for certified teachers with eligibility for upper secondary school, and secondarily for individuals with qualifications we deem suitable for the role. You should have good subject knowledge and a broad pedagogical toolkit for the subjects you teach. We would appreciate it if you have previous teaching experience.

About VBU

Västerbergslagens Educational Consortium (VBU) is a municipal consortium that provides upper secondary education, adult education, vocational higher education, and commissioned training on behalf of Ludvika and Smedjebacken municipalities. VBU has approximately 220 employees, 1,800 students, and an annual turnover of approximately 225 MSEK. Our operations are located in Ludvika, Smedjebacken, and Grängesberg. Employment Terms

The position is a part-time substitute role (60%) starting on August 10, 2026, and ending on June 18, 2027, with a possible extension until October 23, 2027. In some cases, we apply a probationary period of up to 6 months, and we require a certificate of good conduct upon employment.
