You now have the opportunity to join the team at Jacobsskolan. We work in newly renovated premises and provide education across seven of the upper secondary school's vocational preparatory programs as well as introductory programs. We are currently offering a position as a teacher in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language.

At Jacobsskolan, we work on a trust-based model with the student and their learning at the center. You will be part of a work team consisting of teachers in general upper secondary subjects and vocational subjects, working together to ensure students meet their goals. You will also collaborate with subject colleagues in subject groups, where you jointly work to develop teaching within your subject.

Here you have the opportunity to be part of developing the school's operations through our systematic quality work. Together with your work team, you will work on the school's prioritized areas in the curriculum.

The position may include mentorship duties.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a certified teacher with the qualifications to teach Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language at the upper secondary level. Experience teaching in the upper secondary school's vocational preparatory programs is considered an advantage.

You are relationship-building and work from an inclusive approach, focusing on an accessible learning environment adapted to our students' needs and prerequisites. You are good at collaborating and are expected to participate actively in the subject group and work team, as well as have close cooperation with other school professionals, such as the student health service. You believe in the student's ability, and the starting point for your interaction with students is to find the experiences and knowledge that the student already possesses. You enjoy working in multicultural environments and are inspired by new knowledge and experiences. We expect you to have good IT skills.

As you will be part of a work team, we consider it a given that you see your colleagues as an asset and that you view collaboration as a natural part of your work. In the role of teacher, you take responsibility for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of your teaching, grounded in the school's governing documents.

About Us

The Child and Education Department is responsible for the municipality's preschools, comprehensive schools, upper secondary schools, adapted schools, and cultural schools. We work together for a learning environment where children, students, and employees succeed and become their best selves. The department's mission is to coordinate, plan, and support the various operations, as well as work for coordination between school and working life.

We offer the following programs: Childcare and Recreation Program, Construction and Civil Engineering Program, Electricity and Energy Program, Vehicle and Transport Program, Industrial Technology Program, Restaurant and Food Program, Care and Nursing Program, as well as Introductory Programs. The school has good cooperation with working life through constructive program councils. We are also engaged in both the Technology College and the Care and Nursing College.

We use SchoolSoft as a tool for documentation and parent contact. In daily operations, we use Office 365 internally within the Child and Education Department, as well as Google Classroom in teaching.
