Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for you who are a special needs teacher and interested in a new assignment with us at Kroksbäcksskolan.

The assignment involves working with grades 6–9. As a special needs teacher here, you work primarily to create conditions for accessibility, participation, and inclusion for our students. You do this mainly by identifying and adapting the interventions needed to facilitate learning for our students. You work preventively by identifying and removing obstacles in various learning environments. By conducting pedagogical assessments and investigations, you provide students with the best possible conditions for learning. You may also be responsible for conducting training sessions and supervising our staff. You collaborate closely with your colleagues and regularly inform the school management and other school staff about developments and the measures you have taken. You are part of the school's student health team, which consists of a school psychologist, school nurse, counselor, student coordinator, and career counselor. The daily work within the group is led by the deputy principal.

At our school, all teaching is based on language-developing approaches. You will also have the opportunity to drive and develop the school's work with the EHM model. Together, we create the best school for every student!

Qualifications

You, as an applicant, hold a degree in special needs education. Previous experience as a teacher and special needs teacher is advantageous. You have insight and knowledge regarding school development and the school's governing documents, and can apply them in your daily work. You have acquired knowledge and experience in supervision/training, student health work, and working with documentation, pedagogical investigations, extra adjustments, and special support/action plans. You have strong didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore lead and organize work towards the student(s) to create a calm study environment and a good learning environment throughout the day. Based on evidence-based research, we see that you can develop your work, and we want you to be familiar with and knowledgeable about working with relevant digital tools. Naturally, you have a professional attitude and work to build good relationships with our students, their guardians, and all your colleagues at the school.

To fit the role of special needs teacher with us, it is important that you have knowledge of language-developing approaches, good administrative skills, and good knowledge of the routines regarding students' need for special support. To thrive with us, you need to be comfortable working both independently and in a team.
