About the role and your responsibilities

As a primary school teacher (grades F-3), you lead the pedagogical and social work based on the organization's goals, guidelines, and current regulatory documents. You are well-versed in the current curriculum and are responsible for the pedagogical content of the teaching, working to promote students' learning and development. Your duties include planning, teaching, supervision during after-school hours, as well as assessment and documentation of students' knowledge development. It is important to us that you, as an applicant, wish to actively participate in the school's systematic quality work. The position includes working with students at the after-school center (fritidshem) a few days a week.

We expect you to be an engaged educator who always keeps the student in focus and wants to make a difference every day, creating added value for the students we share responsibility for. The position is a 100% permanent employment with work in two grade levels during the upcoming school year.

We are looking for you

We are looking for you who are a certified primary school teacher (grades F-3). It is an advantage if you have previous experience in teaching and have completed supervisor training. You have good insight and knowledge of the school's regulatory documents and can apply these pedagogically in your daily work.

For this position, it is important to be able to plan and organize tasks. You must therefore be good at setting goals, organizing resources, following up and concluding activities, and adapting to changed conditions. We view it positively if you encourage and support change initiatives and can easily adapt your behavior in relation to the needs of others.

As a person, you are flexible, responsible, solution-focused, and enjoy constantly developing and trying new ways of working. We see that you have a good ability to work with other people; to listen, show empathy and respect. You are unpretentious and recognize and reward others' contributions. A good ability to build relationships with guardians and create good cooperation is a prerequisite for the position. Good ethics and sound values are something we expect you to uphold.

About the workplace

Vegalyckan is a primary school (grades F-3) with approximately 220 students. The school is located in a beautiful park setting in southern Lund. Vegalyckan has a professional and scientific approach to knowledge. The school's educators work actively with collegial learning, inclusive methods, accessible learning environments, and adaptations that increase students' goal achievement. A language-developing approach, equitable assessment, and digital learning environments characterize the teaching. We cherish our wonderful "we-feeling" and together with after-school teachers, we provide learning throughout the day for our students.

Vegalyckan is a partner school to Malmö University and welcomes teacher students both in school and after-school settings every semester. We see our collaboration with the university as very valuable, and all employees at Vegalyckan should be able to host students.

At Vegalyckan, there are two pedagogical dogs with a dog handler. The pedagogical dogs function as pedagogical tools and are used both as an adaptation for students in need of special support and as part of the equal treatment work. They supervise breaks, participate in value-based exercises, and are available to all students in the school in various situations.

Vegalyckan's after-school center has pedagogical staff with high qualifications. The educators give each student the opportunity to develop their independence, as well as space for thoughts and reflections on a meaningful leisure time. Vegalyckan has very good goal achievement.

There are also three classes in adapted primary school at Vegalyckan, with a total of 14 students. We have both classes that study subjects and subject areas.
