About the School

Praktiska Gymnasiet in Limhamn offers students a concept where theory is mixed with practical exercises both in school and at workplaces. At Praktiska, we hold ourselves to high standards to create the best conditions for an educational and fun experience. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, closeness, and practical learning. Our program offerings consist of five strong vocational programs: Construction & Infrastructure, Electricity & Energy, Hairdresser & Stylist, Vehicles & Transport, and the Natural Resource Program. Currently, the school has approximately 290 students and about 40 employees, creating a safe and family-like atmosphere where "everyone knows everyone." Your Mission

This position is a combined role encompassing the professional roles of Study and Career Counselor (SYV), APL Coordinator, and School Communicator, which together form a full-time position starting as agreed. In your role as SYV, you will collaborate closely with the school staff in the general counseling mission to help increase students' decision-making competence. You will also work with individual counseling and information for the school's students, both during their upper secondary education and in preparation for future study and career choices, and be part of the school's student health team. As APL Coordinator, your role involves building sustainable structures for work-based learning (APL). Together with the school's vocational teachers, you will develop the school's contacts with the business world and various industry organizations, and work to strengthen the systematic quality work regarding APL at the school. In the role of School Communicator, you are responsible for the school's external communication, visibility on social media, and marketing for the upper secondary school choice (e.g., open houses and fairs).

You are a trained Study and Career Counselor with a passion for development. Social competence, a solution-focused mindset, and initiative are important. To thrive in this role, you are an outgoing and structured person who easily builds trust. You are a natural networker who enjoys juggling multiple tasks and can communicate in an engaging way – whether in a counseling session or in an Instagram post. We place great emphasis on personal qualities and value your ability to meet students based on their needs. Our students are eager to enter the working world, and your main task is to guide them there. Since the education takes place in collaboration with local businesses, good local knowledge and industry expertise are meritorious.

What We Offer

The health and well-being of our employees is important to us. Therefore, at our schools, employees are offered benefits such as a wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK/year, parental pay, and occupational health services.

In addition, Praktiska Gymnasiet offers internal training for newly hired non-certified teachers and has an ongoing collaboration with various national higher education institutions that offer further teacher education (VAL) to support our teachers in becoming certified.
