Västerängsskolan – The School of the Future

Västerängsskolan is Skurup's new modern F–9 school, focusing on security, community, and hope for the future. The school consists of both regular primary school and adapted primary school, as well as an after-school center. Here, students have the opportunity to progress all the way from preschool class to grade 9 in an inspiring environment with new facilities, a sports hall, green outdoor areas, and proximity to nature.

The school is built on the outskirts of Skurup, next to the large Ängsparken (Meadow Park) of approximately 30,000 square meters. The intention is that the environment around the school will contribute to security and outdoor activities. The school building itself will be just over 9,000 square meters in size and partially built in three stories. It also includes a sports hall of approximately 2,800 square meters and football fields.

The school aims to offer a calm and secure learning environment where each class initially has the opportunity for its own home classroom, and where relationships between students and adults are central. Västerängsskolan also focuses on profile directions within dance, floorball, and padel – giving students the opportunity to develop both knowledge and interests during the school day.

Job Responsibilities

• Teaching and mentorship in grade 4.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching according to the Swedish National Curriculum (Lgr 22).
• Actively participate in the work team's joint planning and development.
• Support students' social and academic development.
• Use varied working methods and digital tools to stimulate students' curiosity and desire to learn.
• Have mentorship for a group of students.
• Contribute to the school's joint development work within teaching and collegial learning.
• Create good relationships, lead groups, and contribute to a safe and inclusive classroom climate.

Qualifications

• Primary Teacher Education (Grundsärarexamen) grades 4–6 with teaching license (MA-NO).
• Good subject knowledge and ability to create structure and engagement in the classroom.
• Ability to differentiate teaching based on students' needs.
• Work on a scientific basis and with proven experience.
